Acceptable Use Policy

This Acceptable Use Policy ("AUP") defines the rules and restrictions that apply to all customers, resellers, and users of services provided by Cupisweb Technology LTD (Company Registration No. 8209413), including web hosting, domain registration, email hosting, and related services (collectively, the "Services").

By using our Services, you agree to comply with this AUP. Violations may result in immediate suspension or termination of your account without refund. This AUP is incorporated by reference into our Terms & Conditions.

1. Prohibited Content

You may not host, store, transmit, or distribute any content that:

  • Is illegal under Nigerian law or the laws of any jurisdiction where it may be accessed
  • Infringes on any copyright, trademark, patent, trade secret, or other intellectual property rights
  • Is defamatory, harassing, abusive, threatening, or invasive of another person's privacy
  • Contains or promotes hate speech, discrimination, or violence against individuals or groups
  • Depicts, promotes, or facilitates child sexual abuse or exploitation (CSAM)
  • Promotes or facilitates terrorism, extremism, or violent radicalization
  • Is obscene or pornographic in violation of applicable law

2. Prohibited Activities — Fraud & Phishing

Cupisweb maintains a strict zero-tolerance policy against all forms of online fraud. The following activities are expressly prohibited:

  • Phishing websites — sites designed to impersonate legitimate services to steal login credentials, financial information, or personal data
  • Cryptocurrency scams — including fake crypto exchanges, wallet drainer sites, seed phrase harvesting pages, or any site that tricks users into surrendering crypto assets
  • Advance-fee fraud (419 scams) — any scheme that solicits upfront payments under false pretenses
  • Identity theft — collecting or misusing personal information without consent
  • Fake "Connect Wallet" interfaces — pages that prompt users to enter 12- or 24-word seed/recovery phrases
  • Investment scams — fraudulent investment platforms, Ponzi schemes, or fake trading platforms
  • Impersonation — masquerading as a legitimate company, government body, or financial institution
  • Card fraud — hosting sites that facilitate unauthorized credit card use or carding activities

3. Prohibited Activities — Malware & Security

You must not use our Services to:

  • Host, distribute, or transmit viruses, ransomware, spyware, adware, trojans, or any other malicious software
  • Conduct or facilitate unauthorized access to any computer system, network, or data (hacking)
  • Launch or participate in Distributed Denial of Service (DDoS) attacks
  • Operate botnets or command-and-control (C2) servers
  • Exploit vulnerabilities in software, hardware, or networks
  • Conduct port scanning, network probing, or vulnerability assessments on systems you do not own
  • Host tools designed to compromise the security of other systems

4. Prohibited Activities — Email & Spam

Our Services must not be used to:

  • Send unsolicited bulk email (spam) to any recipients
  • Operate open mail relays that allow third parties to send spam
  • Harvest or collect email addresses without consent
  • Send phishing emails or emails containing malicious links or attachments
  • Forge email headers or impersonate other senders
  • Exceed our daily email sending limits (20 emails/day on standard email hosting plans)

Customers found to be sending spam will be immediately suspended. See our Anti-Spam Policy for full details.

5. Prohibited Activities — Network & Resource Abuse

You must not:

  • Use excessive server resources (CPU, RAM, bandwidth, disk I/O) that degrade performance for other customers
  • Run cryptocurrency mining scripts or software on our servers
  • Operate IRC servers, peer-to-peer (P2P) file sharing, or torrent services
  • Use our servers as proxies or VPNs to mask the origin of malicious traffic
  • Store or distribute pirated software, media, or any content that violates intellectual property law
  • Run unauthorized scripts or processes that place excessive load on shared hosting environments

6. Reseller Responsibilities

Customers who resell Cupisweb services to third parties (resellers) are fully responsible for ensuring their own customers comply with this AUP. Resellers must:

  • Incorporate this AUP (or an equivalent policy) into their own terms of service
  • Promptly act on abuse complaints involving their customers
  • Immediately suspend any customer account found to be in violation of this AUP
  • Cooperate with Cupisweb in abuse investigations

Failure to manage resold accounts in compliance with this AUP may result in suspension of the reseller account.

7. Customer Onboarding & Verification

To maintain the integrity of our network, Cupisweb reserves the right to:

  • Require identity verification (KYC) before activating any account
  • Request supporting documentation for business accounts
  • Decline service to any applicant without providing a reason
  • Screen domains and content hosted on our platform against known abuse databases

8. Monitoring & Enforcement

Cupisweb actively monitors its network for abuse using the following methods:

  • Cross-referencing hosted domains against phishing blacklists (Google Safe Browsing, PhishTank, URLhaus)
  • Monitoring for suspicious domain patterns and high-risk keywords
  • Reviewing abuse reports submitted to [email protected]
  • Cooperating with upstream providers such as Hetzner Online GmbH
  • Conducting periodic spot checks on newly activated accounts

Cupisweb reserves the right to inspect hosted content where there is reasonable suspicion of AUP violation.

9. Consequences of Violations

Depending on the severity and nature of the violation, Cupisweb may take the following actions:

  • Warning: A written notice for minor or first-time violations
  • Suspension: Immediate suspension of the offending service or account
  • Termination: Permanent account closure with no refund
  • Legal referral: Reporting to law enforcement or cybercrime authorities where criminal activity is suspected
  • Upstream reporting: Notifying upstream providers and abuse databases

For severe violations (phishing, malware, fraud), suspension is immediate and without prior warning.

10. How to Report Abuse

If you are aware of any content or activity on our network that violates this AUP, please report it immediately. We take all reports seriously and investigate every complaint.

  • Resolution time: Confirmed violations resolved within 24 hours

When reporting, please include the domain or IP address involved, a description of the activity, and any supporting evidence (screenshots, URLs, logs).

11. Cooperation with Authorities

Cupisweb cooperates fully with:

  • Nigerian law enforcement agencies
  • International cybercrime authorities and organizations (e.g., INTERPOL, EFCC)
  • Upstream hosting providers (e.g., Hetzner Online GmbH)
  • Cybersecurity organizations (e.g., PhishTank, APWG, Google Safe Browsing)
  • Domain registries and ICANN in cases of domain abuse

Customer data may be disclosed to authorities where required by law or in response to a valid legal order.

12. Changes to This AUP

Cupisweb reserves the right to update this AUP at any time. Significant changes will be communicated via email or a notice on our website. Continued use of our Services after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised AUP.
