ASUS X870E exclusive BIOS features revealed

    ASUS X870E exclusive features detailed

At Computex, AMD unexpectedly allowed all motherboard makers to reveal their 800-series motherboards. Many manufacturers were clearly unprepared for this early showcase, resulting in fewer X870/E designs compared to Intel’s next-gen boards with LGA-1815 sockets.

Currently, AMD is expected to launch its Ryzen 9000 on July 31st, but the initial Zen5 lineup will have to rely on existing 600-series boards. AMD has not publicly confirmed the release date for the 800-series, but we have independently confirmed that companies like MSI are planning a launch event for mid-September.

In the meantime, AMD is pushing new AGESA firmware updates to existing boards, which will also be available for the 800-series. A member of the HardwareLuxx forums, who created a popular thread featuring AGESA updates, has provided an overview of what the upcoming ASUS ROG Strix X870E-E Gaming motherboard will support that current motherboards do not. These features are:

    • Heavy Load Dynamic CO Stabilizer, which is summed up as: “Enable to switch over to PBO Mode from OC Mode during periods of very heavy loading.”
    • All Core Safe CO Svalue to Switch to, which is described as follows: “Set an appropriate fallback Curve Optimizer value for periods of very heavy loading.”

This also reveals that ASUS will increase fan point adjustments to 8, compared to 4 on the previous motherboard SKU (X670E-E).

These features are, of course, on top of the new DDR5 memory OC and Curve Shaper, which are also coming to the 600-series. Worth noting that ASUS did not reveal this particular motherboard design yet.
